Fast Track Lucinda Brand Try Everything

March 20, 2020
Professional Dutch road and cyclocross cyclist, Lucinda Brand just finished the cyclocross season with Telenet Baloise Lions and was beginning the road season with her team Trek Segafredo when the season was interrupted by coronavirus. The women’s Team Trek Segafredo has 2 female directors – Ina-Yoko Teutenberg and Giorgia Bronzini, both SUPERSTARS in their racing days. It’s only recently that former pro women racers have been able to get this kind of work after retiring, so this really is a big deal for the path towards greater equity.

Lucinda has been a professional rider for eleven years. On the road she’s won four Dutch National Championships, GP de Plouay-Bretagne, three stages in the Giro d’Italia Femminile, and the World Championships team time trial. During this past cyclocross season she won three world Cup races: Namur, Grand Prix Erik de Vlaeminck, VLA-mink and Grand Prix Adri van der Poel.

In the episode, Lucinda shares her current thoughts of the extensive race cancellations, how she’s tackling training with uncertainty, how hard cyclocross really is, warming up, and why the Dutch are so good.
