Episode 99: Khadijah Diggs #nevergiveuponyourself

Khadijah Diggs is a Triathlete on TEAM USA, a mother, and works full time. Her mission is to promote a positive image of Muslim women and Islam in general through sport. She aims to change the world one race at a time.

Khadijah competed in her first Triathlon in 2012 as part of an initiative for her Sorority, Gamma Gamma Chi Sorority, Inc. and in that moment she fell in love with the sport.  Since then, she has entered more than 40 events and successfully completed all but one of them.  Khadijah is currently ranked in the top 5% of her age group by Ironman Triathlon. She also the first African American woman to represent Team USA in Long Course Triathlon and the first Muslim to represent Team USA in any multisport event.

Some of career highlights include Making the 2018 and 2017 US Long Course Team, earning a PR of 12:57:34 at IM Florida in 2017, finishing 1st in her division, 2nd female overall, and running a PB of 5:07:42 at the 2020 Havana, Cuba 70.3, earning 2nd at her first International race in Havana Cuba in 2017 and earning an invitation to Olympic Distance Nationals in 2015 and 2017.

Khadijah is also energetic and connected on social media. During the pandemic isolation she started a series of free web “Get-Togethers” on YouTube.
